Six or seven years ago I wrote a desktop app (Pythia Oracle, still runs under Python 2 but not as easily as one would wish) to handle all the table-stuff for soloing and then running a group game. All my ttrpg gaming since then has centered on this tool.

This is the dungeon crawling procedure from that app pulled out a few years ago and streamlined for analog play. It's still a tool I reach for constantly, either in script form (script here, overview here) or this file. I'm stuffing it here for later reference.

Inspirations (while many and varied) include Crawford's Scarlet Heroes, Kaiser's Castle Gargantua, and OSRIC. While I didn't read Perilous Wilds until after, I'd recommend it, and Ray Otus's Gygax challenge, too.

Oh, and if you'd prefer a digital version online, Sage Da Mage built one here: https://perchance.org/pythian-dungeon.
